Description	蓮座山獨峙於桃園大漢溪中，其形勢猶如蓮花出水，因而得名。百餘年來，蓮座山觀音寺一直是桃園、新竹、苗栗等三縣市大部份客家人士的信仰中心，並會恭迎觀音佛祖的「香旗」回家敬奉。在每年的農曆二月十九日是為觀音聖誕前夕，客屬的各鄉鎮、村里組團均至本寺進香，同時將「香旗」迎回本寺「謁祖」（或稱過爐)。隨著信徒增多，觀音寺除了扮演凝聚社群的角色外，同時也與政府機關、公益團體共同舉辦各類的濟助活動，獲頒公益寺廟，發揮公益、慈善及社會教化的社會服務的功能。
